WATCH: Danny Dimes Goes Undercover To See If Anyone, Even Giants Fans, Recognize Him

New York Giants quarterback Daniel Jones is a man of few words. He’s usually shy and understated and prefers to let his play on the field do his talking for him.

That’s just the way he likes it.

This explains why some people, even so-called football fans, fail to recognize him – even when talking about Giants football.

Jones recently went undercover as an employee at a Hugo Boss store near MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.

Hugo Boss is one of the Giants sponsors. Jones’ mission was to promote and push the collaboration apparel to curious customers.

Needless to say, things got off to an awkward start when no one recognized Danny Dimes.

Of course, that was all part of the goof. Jones is as ego-less as they come and never takes himself seriously. He enjoyed the self-deprecating bit.

Jones’ dedication to the task was evident as he even switched to speaking Spanish to connect with customers whose native language wasn’t English.

His efforts didn’t go unnoticed, but the recognition process still proved to be a challenge for most.

In a particularly memorable encounter, Jones engaged with a Giants fan who seemed oblivious to the fact that he was talking to none other than the team’s quarterback.

Jones cleverly dropped hints about his identity, quizzing the customer about his thoughts on the Giants upcoming season. After a lighthearted exchange, the fan finally made the connection, leading to a humorous and unexpected bonding moment.

The football-themed banter didn’t stop there. Jones playfully interacted with fans of rival teams, including Eagles and Packers fans.

Despite initial resistance, Jones’ charismatic persuasion eventually won over the Eagles fan, resulting in a friendly photo-op that (temporarily) bridged the rivalry gap.

Not all interactions required much effort, though. A Brooklyn Nets shirt-wearing customer quickly recognized Jones and sparked an immediate connection.

As entertaining as Jones’ retail venture proved to be, it’s safe to say he has his hands full with the upcoming season as Big Blue looks to build on their surprising 2022 season which saw them break a long playoff drought.

How do you think Danny Dimes and the Giants will do this season?
