WATCH: Chargers HC Brandon Staley Blasts The Media In Bizarre Unhinged Rant

Brandon Staley’s days certainly seem numbered in Los Angeles.

In many people’s eyes, he’s been living on borrowed time with the Chargers. If he were coaching in a more intense market, he probably would have been fired long ago.

Regardless, the cracks continue to deepen each and every week … And following yesterday’s 23-20 loss to the Packers in Green Bay, it’s clear the pressure is reaching a boiling point.

At 4-6, everyone knows the Chargers are way too talented to have such a poor record.

Pressed by the media in the postgame, Staley’s severe frustration bleed through – especially when asked about his role as defensive play-caller.

“I have full confidence in our way of playing. Full confidence in myself as a play caller, in the way that we teach and the way that we scheme. Full confidence in that.,” Staley said.

“You can stop asking that question … I’m going to be calling the defenses, okay? So we’re clear. So you don’t have to ask that again,” he angrily added.

Criticism has mounted against Staley, who serves as both head coach and defensive play caller, particularly since last year’s playoffs when the Chargers blew a 27-0 lead to the Jacksonville Jaguars.

This season, the Chargers entered Week 11 with the NFL’s 31st-ranked total defense and last-ranked pass defense.

In Week 10, the Chargers defense gave up 41 points to the Detroit Lions at home. In yesterday’s loss against Green Bay, they surrendered 397 total yards, with Packers quarterback Jordan Love throwing for a career-best 322 yards.

Pouring salt on the wound was sack-master Joey Bosa’s ugly injury which certainly looked to be serious.

Staley was hired by the Chargers in 2021 after serving as the Los Angeles Rams defensive coordinator, where he played a crucial role in helping the Rams secure the #1 defense in the NFL.

However, his tenure with the Chargers has not yielded comparable results … Far from it actually.

Will Staley be fired after the season? … Perhaps even sooner?

Should Chargers ownership have one eye on Bill Belichick as a possible replacement???
