WATCH: Caleb Williams Cries Uncontrollably In Mother’s Arms, Says He Wants To “Cuddle” With His Dog

The 2023 season has been a complete disaster for Caleb Williams and the USC Trojans.

That may sound harsh to some – but based on the massive expectations entering the season for the reigning Heisman Trophy winner and his explosive squad, a disaster is exactly what it’s been.

Following the Trojans 52-42 home loss to Washington on Saturday, Williams rushed over to his family, leaping into the stands where he was spotted crying behind a sign held up by his mother…

After the game, Williams reflected on yet another frustrating loss in a season where their national title aspirations have long since vanished…

“I want to go home and cuddle with my dog and watch some shows … I don’t know. Like, we lost the game. Something you work hard for throughout months, years to have big games like this, try and go win and play your best, each and every one of us,” Williams said.

“We came out with a loss today, so emotionally, I want to go home and I want to lay with my dog.”

That dog he speaks of is named “Supa” – short for Williams’ own nickname, “Superman.”

The losses are piling up for USC, but the college football world knows that has everything to do with the Trojans poor defense.

The fact remains that Williams is still playing at a very high level … Just imagine if USC had a respectable defense.

“Watching Caleb Williams sobbing with his family after losing the game will BREAK YOUR HEART. This young man pours his heart out for his team EVERY TIME he plays. Any NFL team would be lucky to have him as their QB, and this emotion shows how much this game means to him,” Former quarterback-turned-analyst Robert Griffin III wrote on X.

Further reflecting on the game, Williams admitted: “We didn’t play very well tonight. Biggest thing was the run game. Way too many big plays. Some of our worst ball was on some of the biggest plays of the game.”

“I think our guys are frustrated that we’ve been so, so close, and we haven’t played good enough to be able to separate,” he added.

Amid the disappointment, ESPN lead college football analyst Kirk Herbstreit commended Williams for his valiant efforts, stating: “[He] played well. Led his team. Did all he could. He just came up a bit short. It’s part of the game.”

For what it’s worth, Trojans head coach Lincoln Riley fired defensive coordinator Alex Grinch … However, the damage has already been done.

What are your thoughts on Williams as a quarterback?

Should he be the first pick in the NFL Draft? … Or have your feelings on him changed?
