WATCH: Bill “Man Of The People” Murray Rides The NYC Subway After Watching His Beloved Cubs Beat The Mets … Biggest Celeb Baseball Fan Ever??

Besides being one of the most beloved actors of all-time, funny-man Bill Murray is also well-known for being a diehard Chicago Cubs fan.

While he has homes all over the country, Murray spends a lot of his time in the New York area. Which is why it should as no surprise that when his cherished Cubbies traveled to Citi Field to play the New York Mets, he was there front and center.

Murray cheered the Cubs to a dramatic 3-1 victory over the Mets on Monday night. And when the game was over, he did what real New Yorkers do – took the subway home.

“Riding the train after a Cubs win with Bill Murray. I just never thought it would be in New York,” @BlainPlanes posted on X.

Renowned for his unwavering support for the Cubbies, Murray’s presence at Monday’s game wasn’t entirely unexpected.

Having serenaded fans with renditions of “Take Me Out to the Ball Game” at Wrigley Field and jubilantly celebrated the team’s 2016 title win in Cleveland, his affinity for the Cubs is well-known.

The Cubs were actually no-hit into the eighth inning thanks to a dominant performance by pitcher Luis Severino.

However, they finally broke through and tied the game 1-1 in the eighth before Christopher Morel hit a two-run home run off closer Edwin Diaz in the ninth which proved to be the decisive blow in Chicago’s 3-1 victory.

Murray was there to enjoy it all as he sported a Cubs hat and a “Team Mongo” sweatshirt, which paid homage to Chicago Bears great Steve McMichael.

Murray has always been a man of the people, which is why he had no problem taking the subway home like everyone else.

Crime is obviously way out of control in New York, but hey, no one is going to mess with beloved American icon Bill Murray.

Although he enjoys staying out of the spotlight, cameras have found Murray out in public quite a bit recently.

Of course, that mostly has to do with the fact that his son, Luke, is Dan Hurley’s right-hand man on the UConn Huskies basketball coaching staff.

Fresh off helping UConn win back-to-back national championships, Luke and the Huskies will be going after a historic three-peat next season.

Baseball fandom is quite common among actors and musicians. Murray is certainly one of the most well-known celebrity fans, but he isn’t alone.

Some other well-known baseball fans from “that world” include…

-Ben Affleck

-Matt Damon

-Vince Vaughn

-Eddie Vedder

-Jerry Seinfeld

-Larry David

-Steven Tyler

-Billy Bob Thornton

-Jon Hamm

-Stephen King

-Billy Crystal

Of course, this is just a short list of some notable names … I mean, who doesn’t love baseball?!

Who do you think is the biggest and most die-hard baseball fan of the bunch???
