Vikings Fans In Full Panic Following Devastating Injury News

Minnesota Vikings rookie quarterback J.J. McCarthy is set to undergo surgery on a torn meniscus in his right knee.

McCarthy, who experienced some discomfort in his knee and was held out of practice on Monday night for precautionary reasons, will now face a decision on the extent of his surgery.

The nature of the surgery will determine McCarthy’s recovery timeline.

If a meniscus trim is required, he could be sidelined for a few weeks. However, if a full repair is necessary, his recovery could extend to several months.

Vikings head coach Kevin O’Connell has not yet confirmed when the surgery will take place.

The Vikings are set to travel to Cleveland for joint practices with the Browns on Wednesday and Thursday, followed by a preseason game against them on Saturday.

McCarthy will not be accompanying the team to these events.

Selected tenth overall by the Vikings in this year’s draft out of Michigan, McCarthy has primarily worked with the team’s second-unit offense during training camp.

He showcased his potential in Saturday’s preseason opener against the Raiders, where he passed 11 of 17 for 188 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception.

While Sam Darnold was always expected to win the starting quarterback job, the injury news comes as an unwanted shock for a Minnesota fan base starving for a winner.

How concerned should the Vikings be???
