Urban Meyer Offers Grim Jim Harbaugh Outlook: “If It’s As Deep As I’m Hearing, There’s A Chance He Won’t Coach There Next Year”

The case may be closed, for now, on the messy situation in Ann Arbor.

We know the Michigan Wolverines will be without Jim Harbaugh on Saturday against Ohio State … He’s expected to rejoin the team on the sidelines for the postseason.

But just how deep does all the mess at Michigan go??? … That’s the question everyone wants to know.

Appearing on “The Herd with Colin Cowherd,” longtime coach-turned-analyst Urban Meyer spoke about the multiple controversies Harbaugh has found himself in.

When asked about possible vacating of wins and championships, Meyer offered a dismissive view and made reference the NCAA’s punishment of USC.

“I think the vacate stuff is silly,” Meyer asserted. “I talked to Matt Leinart about that. I think they (USC) had something vacated. They don’t consider it vacated. The players did it.”

However, Meyer refrained from making a definitive judgment on Harbaugh’s situation, emphasizing the need to uncover the true extent of the scandal.

But he did hint that the root of the problem may go much deeper than originally thought.

“I’m just skeptical as far as making a comment because how deep does this really go? … I’ve heard it as deep deep and I’ve heard that it’s not that deep where it’s just a rogue guy doing it, which is hard to believe…”

“(But) I want to see what the depth is. If it’s as deep as I’m hearing, I’ve heard as well there’s a chance he won’t coach there next year for the season,” Meyer said.

What do you make of the Michigan scandal?

Will Harbaugh end up facing further punishment?

Will this ultimately be his final year in Ann Arbor?

Most importantly, will the Wolverines win the national championship this season???
