Auburn is on the brink of rounding out its 2025 recruiting class, having secured several key commitments.
The final piece of the puzzle appears to be a highly coveted quarterback, and Auburn may soon see a significant boost in this area.
Steve Wiltfong, the Vice President of Recruiting at On3, has recently made a prediction that quarterback Deuce Knight might switch his commitment from Notre Dame to Auburn.
This forecast follows a strong endorsement from fellow On3 recruiting expert Jeffrey Lee, who expressed confidence that Auburn will beat-out Ole Miss in securing Knight’s commitment.
Wiltfong points to the allure of playing in the SEC as a major factor in Knight’s interest in Auburn.
“Obviously, we’ve been reporting for a little while now that we think Auburn is the team with the momentum in the Deuce Knight recruitment, and now my On3 RPM reflects that,” Wiltfong said..
“I think Big Cat Weekend was a great experience. And I think playing in the SEC is a big factor for him. I think he loves Notre Dame – loves Marcus Freeman, loves Gino Guidugli. But I just think he’s got his eye on the SEC.”
Auburn’s coaching staff has been relentless in their pursuit of Knight, supported by efforts from 2025 recruits Alvin Henderson and Jared Smith.
Smith, who recently committed to Auburn, has been actively engaging with Knight, expressing his enthusiasm about the prospect of playing alongside him.
“I have a strong feeling about him,” Smith said after announcing his commitment to Auburn last weekend. “I’m talking, texting him, I keep talking to him. We will see that pretty soon.”
