Tommy DeVito Makes Eye-Opening Admission On Possible Post-Giants Life

Tommy DeVito, the unexpected hero of the New York Giants’ last season, is determined to position himself for another standout season in 2024 – IF he gets the chance.

The quarterback, who started as an undrafted rookie and third-stringer, stepped up when injuries sidelined Daniel Jones and Tyrod Taylor.

Despite a rocky debut, DeVito managed to guide the team to a 3-3 record over six starts before Taylor’s return.

Reflecting on his performance, DeVito confidently stated that he proved he “belongs” in the NFL.

However, the Giants’ recent signing of Drew Lock as Jones’s backup has cast doubt on DeVito’s future with the team.

This move forces the Giants to decide whether to retain DeVito or risk exposing him to waivers later this summer.

DeVito, aware of the stakes, made a compelling case for his retention over the weekend.

“I’m very aware of how they operate in this organization,” DeVito remarked, as reported by Ryan Dunleavy of the New York Post. “That’s up to them to make that decision, make that gamble.

“I’m going to continue to play. We’ll see how everything unfolds. If they decide to [cut me] and I get scooped up, I don’t get to make that decision [to say] afterwards, if somebody grabs me, ‘No, I want to stay here.’ It’s everything for the front office.”

Ideally, the Giants hope that DeVito won’t need to take the field in 2024. Nonetheless, the decision about his future remains crucial.

Big Blue, especially in the Daboll-Schoen era, have never been too interested in carrying three quarterbacks on the active roster.

We’ll soon see if they have a change of heart.
