THIS Historic Franchise Is Said To Be “Very Interested” In Trading Up To Draft Caleb Williams … But Should They??

At 4-12 with the Dallas Cowboys on tap, the Washington Commanders are potentially closing in on securing the #2 overall pick in April’s NFL Draft.

Washington is a franchise that has been trying to find its way for a while now.

With new ownership and surely a new head coach soon to come, the Commanders are looking to get things turned around as quick as they can.

According to reports, Washington is “very interested” in drafting USC quarterback Caleb Williams.

They may have to trade up with the Chicago Bears to grab the top pick to ensure that they get Williams – but they reportedly feel he is the guy who can return them to their glory days.

ESPN’s Dan Graziano shed light on the team’s interest in Williams, stating: “The Commanders, with a break here or there over the next couple of weeks, could find themselves in a position to either draft Williams or trade up a spot or two to get him.”

The 2024 NFL draft boasts several promising quarterback prospects, including Caleb Williams, North Carolina’s Drake Maye, LSU’s Jayden Daniels, Oregon’s Bo Nix, and Washington’s Michael Penix Jr. to name a few.

Williams is looked up as the top overall prospect right now – but many feel that Maye has the highest upside and is the “surer” prospect.

It will be interesting to see if Maye passes Williams on team’s boards as we go through pre-draft workouts.

Do you think Williams is a generational quarterback who will be able to live up to all the hype?

Or do you rank other quarterback(s) – such as Maye, Daniels, Nix, Penix Jr., etc – ahead of him?

As for the Commanders, do you think they should draft Williams? … Even if it means trading with Chicago to grab the top pick?

Assuming Ron Rivera gets fired, who do you think Washington should hire as their next head coach???
