The Playoff-Hopeful Colts Receive Devastating News Regarding Their Best Player…

In what has been an emotional, roller-coaster season for Jonathan Taylor, the Indianapolis Colts star running back is set to undergo thumb surgery in Los Angeles today.

Owner Jim Irsay expressed optimism about the procedure and Taylor’s recovery.

This announcement comes on the heels of Taylor’s stellar performance in the Colts recent victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday.

Taylor rushed for 91 yards and scored two crucial touchdowns … His pivotal 8-yard run with 1:24 remaining sealed the victory, allowing the Colts to run out the clock.

Taylor has been a key player for the Colts this season, overcoming (for now) an ugly contract standoff and an early-season ankle injury that kept him sidelined for the first four games.

Taylor signed a lucrative three-year, $42 million extension in October. His workload has steadily increased in recent weeks, with him amassing 414 yards on 100 carries since his return.

With Taylor expected to miss some time due to the upcoming surgery, the spotlight now turns to backup running back Zack Moss.

Moss, who showcased his abilities earlier in the season during Taylor’s absence, is poised to take on a more prominent role. The young running back has already posted a career-best 672 yards and five rushing touchdowns this season.

At 6-5, Indianapolis is still miraculously alive in the AFC playoff picture.

Do you give them any shot at making the postseason?

Where do you rank Taylor among the best running backs in the NFL???
