Texas Longhorns Wide Receiver Enters Transfer Portal Ahead of College Football Playoff Semi-Final Vs. Washington

In a high-stakes rematch following last year’s Alamo Bowl, the No. 3 Texas Longhorns and the No. 2 Washington Huskies are set to clash with even greater implications on the line.

Texas secured a critical advantage by defeating Alabama, leading to the Longhorns claiming the No. 3 spot in the college football playoff rankings, while the Tide settled for No. 4.

Amid the preparations for this monumental game, there’s news about a significant departure from the Longhorns’ roster.

Senior wide receiver Isaiah Neyor, a prominent name in the transfer portal, has reportedly made the decision to leave the Texas program, as reported by On3.

Neyor, who generated considerable excitement when he transferred in 2022, faced challenges in making his mark at Texas, primarily due to injuries that sidelined him for most of his debut season. Prior to joining Texas, Neyor was a standout player at Wyoming, where he showcased his skills with 44 catches for 878 yards and an impressive 12 touchdowns in 2021.

Throughout his college career, Neyor has accumulated 53 receptions, 1,140 yards, and 13 touchdowns. Importantly, he still has two years of eligibility remaining, making his next destination a topic of significant interest.

Neyor joins a growing list of Texas players who have either entered the transfer portal or announced their intention to do so.

With a record of 12-1, the Longhorns are gearing up to face the undefeated 13-0 Washington Huskies on January 1st, in a highly anticipated College Football Playoff semifinal showdown at the Superdome in New Orleans. The victor of this clash will advance to the national championship game on January 8th in Houston, where they will face either No. 1 Michigan or No. 4 Alabama. If Texas makes it to the championship game, they will enjoy a significant home-field advantage, given the proximity of Houston to Austin.
