Texas A&M Guarantees Win Over Texas

After more than a decade, one of college football’s fiercest rivalries is set to reignite as the Texas Longhorns and Texas A&M Aggies prepare to face off on November 30 at Kyle Field in College Station.

The renewal of the Lonestar Showdown has been eagerly anticipated, and despite the lengthy hiatus, the animosity between these two storied programs has remained as intense as ever.

While some might assume that the passage of time would soften the rivalry’s edge, this is Texas vs. Texas A&M – a matchup deeply ingrained in the fabric of college football, and the hatred runs deep.

Aggies quarterback Conner Weigman added an extra spice to the rivalry with his recent comments about this season’s showdown.

“I’ve always wanted to beat Texas. That’s a given. That’s gonna happen,” Weigman guaranteed.

It’s clear that Weigman is as confident as he is excited for the in-state clash on November 30.

On the other side, Texas quarterback Quinn Ewers shares a similar motivation, having grown up a Longhorns fan. Ewers, who is thrilled to be part of the rivalry’s first edition since 2011, emphasized the significance of the game.

“I think I was eight when the teams last played each other,” Ewers recalled. “But hearing stories from my family and my dad – my dad actually said he believed growing up that the Texas A&M game was bigger than the Red River Rivalry.

“I’m excited to have that game back, and it’s going to be cool, especially going to Kyle Field Thanksgiving weekend. That place is going to be rockin’. We’re all fired up for it.”

So is the rest of the country…

While some in the Big 12 may not be too happy, it sure is nice to have Texas and Oklahoma in the SEC. Think of all the epic battles each season will provide us with.

What are your thoughts on Weigman’s comments? … Do you count that as an official guarantee?

In the bigger picture, what are your expectations for both Texas and Texas A&M this season???
