One of the biggest storylines of the upcoming season is the return of Chris Sale.
Sale, one of the most violent pitchers in baseball, has been hampered with injuries the past few years.
The Red Sox are in a little bit of disarray entering this season with question marks all over the roster.
Boston will feel much better about themselves if one of those questions in particular – Sale – can regain his old form and return to the Cy Young contender that he once was.
The lefty threw two innings of live batting practice yesterday in Fort Myers.
He faced Masataka Yoshida, Connor Wong, Jarren Duran and Elih Marrero, looking sharp in the 43 pitch session.
Now it’s time for the next step…
Manager Alex Cora announced that Sale will make his much-anticipated spring training debut next Monday against the Detroit Tigers…

The baseball world reacted to the news on social media…
“I don’t think there’s any storyline in baseball this year that I’m rooting harder for than Chris Sale having a massive comeback season.”
The health of Chris Sale is the only important thing going on in the world right now. Everything else is just a side distraction.

“Chris Sale was one of the most consistent, durable, and dominant pitchers in baseball for nearly a decade. He’s busting his ass to get back to being the ace of the Red Sox. If you’re a fan who can’t support that, that’s a you problem.”
We love Sale at my house. My kid wears 41 when he plays. All we want is for Sale to be Sale again. I bet that’s all Sale wants, too.

“There is nothing I want more this baseball season than for Chris Sale to make 28+ starts with a sub 3.50, so sick of seeing all these Sox fans that have turned on him.”
