LSU star receiver Malik Nabers was arrested in New Orleans on Monday.
Nabers was slapped with a misdemeanor charge of illegal carrying of a weapon after police spotted an “L-shape object” on him while he was out on Bourbon Street.
When asked by police, Nabers said he did not have a permit for the gun.
LSU head coach Brian Kelly said he was aware of the incident and the school was in the process of gathering information.
Nabers, a definite NFL prospect, led LSU with 72 receptions and 1,017 yards last season.
What possible punishment Nabers faces, if any, is to be decided.
The college football world reacted to the news…
His punishment. Sitting out the first quarter of the spring game.

Hope we start doing like some other teams in the SEC do and keep it all in house and not let others decide what his punishment should be.

With there having been a shooting at bacchus this weekend, I can’t blame him too much for wanting to be armed just in case. Never know what to expect down there

Star players of this caliber at #LSU shouldn’t get arrested for this. pic.twitter.com/Uzzad9r9r3

Part of the script every year we have to have a star college player throw it all away.

Here comes the morally high folks to trash this kid, the school, the team and the coach. Nothing positive comes from this. Why announce it?
