Sister Jean Delights Fans with Monday Night’s First Pitch at Wrigley Field

Age doesn’t hold back Sister Jean.

The beloved team chaplain for Loyola University Chicago’s basketball team took center stage before Monday night’s baseball game between Chicago and Milwaukee. Those in the stadium cheered as Sister Jean, from her wheelchair, gently sent the ball on its way.

Here’s a glimpse of the event, courtesy of Marquee Sports Network:

This isn’t her first time. Sister Jean had a similar honor at the same venue last year. Her fame skyrocketed in 2018 when the Ramblers unexpectedly advanced to a major tournament’s later stages.

Having supported her team through many tough times, this recognition is well-deserved. It took 96 years for Sister Jean to witness a championship victory by her favorite team.

There’s a chance Sister Jean might get to celebrate again. As of Monday, the Chicago team is closely trailing Milwaukee in the standings and has a good chance at a playoff spot.

Given the start of Monday’s key game, maybe they should consider having Sister Jean play a bigger role. The starting pitcher, Jameson Taillon, faced challenges right from the get-go.
