SICK OF SITTING!!: 5-Star Stud QB Transfers From Georgia To SEC Rival … Will He End Up Haunting Kirby Smart??

In an interesting move, Georgia backup quarterback Brock Vandagriff has announced his transfer to SEC rival Kentucky.

Vandagriff, highly regarded as one of the top quarterbacks in the 2021 recruiting cycle, spent the last three seasons as a backup for the Bulldogs, witnessing the team secure back-to-back College Football Playoff National Championships in 2021 and 2022.

Vandagriff’s decision to join Kentucky comes after he played an extremely limited role in the Georgia offense this year due to the strong play of starter Carson Beck.

Vandagriff will head to Kentucky with two remaining seasons of eligibility.

When Vandagriff arrived in Georgia in 2021, he was considered one of the top prospects at his position, earning a four-star rating from 247Sports and an even higher five-star rating in the 247Sports Composite.

However, with Beck solidified as Georgia’s starter and the emergence of incoming five-star freshman quarterback Dylan Raiola, Vandagriff opted to explore other opportunities.

Kentucky, led by offensive coordinator Liam Coen, is in need of a quarterback to fill the void left by Devin Leary, who transferred from NC State last offseason.

Leary threw for 2,440 yards and 23 touchdowns but also had 10 interceptions as the Wildcats finished the season with a 7-5 record after a promising 5-0 start.

Looking ahead to the 2024 season, Vandagriff will face his former team when Kentucky hosts Georgia.

Despite the SEC’s removal of divisions, the annual matchup between the Wildcats and Bulldogs will continue.

Kentucky has not defeated Georgia since 2009, and Vandagriff is eager to contribute to potentially ending the Wildcats’ losing streak in the series.

What is your take on Vandagriff’s decision?

How do you think he’ll play at Kentucky???
