SHOTS FIRED!!: Star Transfer Starts War Between SEC Powers After He Calls Out His Old Team … Was He Out Of Line??

In a surprising move, defensive lineman Princely Umanmielen announced his transfer to Ole Miss after four seasons with the Florida Gators.

Shedding light on his decision, Umanmielen didn’t hold back in comparing the coaching tactics of the two SEC programs.

Umanmielen recently shared insights into his ongoing efforts to enhance his run-game defense this spring.

In a revealing statement, he highlighted the disparities in coaching approaches between his former and current teams.

“I feel like here Iā€™m getting coached harder for things like that,” Umanmielen expressed. “I feel like at Florida, the way I was coached, it was kind of like, it was almost as if they were just telling me to go out there and use my talent, if that makes sense.”

The defensive standout credited the coaching staff at Ole Miss, particularly defensive analyst Lou Spanos and defensive line coach Randall Joyner, for providing him with more comprehensive guidance.

“Theyā€™re really on me about the little things,” Umanmielen emphasized. “Attacking the run. Coach Lou really goes through the progressions of the drops and the routes that are being run when I have to go into coverage.”

“When I was at Florida, they would just tell me to drop to this area, and I would have to figure everything else out on my own.”

Umanmielen’s remarks suggested a significant disparity in the depth of coaching instruction between his former and current programs.

He expressed appreciation for the detailed approach taken by the Ole Miss coaching staff, indicating that he feels more actively developed in his new environment.

Despite what he perceived as a lack of instruction at Florida, Umanmielen managed to achieve notable success on the field, tallying seven sacks in his final season with the Gators.

Over his four-year tenure, he accumulated an impressive 98 career tackles and three forced fumbles.

The decision to transfer to Ole Miss positions Umanmielen as a valuable addition to the Rebels defense, which allowed an average of 383.2 total yards per game during their impressive 11-2 season.

His comments about the Gators will only spice up the rivalry between the two SEC powers.

What are your thoughts on Umanmielen’s comments?

More importantly, what do you think of both Florida and Ole Miss entering the 2024 season?

Will the Rebels live up to the hype???
