Incredibly, we are just three days away from the start of the 2024 college football season.
Hungry after being dragged through the mud a year ago, the Florida State Seminoles will start their revenge tour across the pond in Dublin, Ireland, as they officially kick off the season against the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets.
Saturday will also bring us the season debut of the ultra-popular College GameDay.
Joining the GameDay crew will be legendary coach Nick Saban. (Imagine saying that a year ago this time?)
Fresh off his stunning retirement announcement, Saban will join Kirk Herbstreit, Lee Corso, Pat McAfee, Desmond Howard and everyone’s favorite host, Rece Davis.
Notably, it was just announced that the special guest picker for Saturday’s GameDay debut will be none other than WWE superstar Sheamus.
The four-time world champion, known for his charismatic and larger-than-life personality, will surely add some flair to the show.
The 46-year-old wrestling icon is not only a global name in professional wrestling but also a native of Dublin, Ireland.
“So excited for @WWE’s Sheamus to join us as our guest picker in Dublin,” College GameDay posted on X.
This latest connection between Florida State and the WWE comes on the heels of the company releasing a ‘Legacy Title’ belt for several college teams, including the Seminoles.
It wouldn’t be surprising if Sheamus makes his appearance with one of these custom belts to help preview the ACC clash.
College GameDay will be broadcasting from College Green, just a short distance from Aviva Stadium, where FSU and Georgia Tech will battle in the Aer Lingus College Football Classic.
As usual, GameDay will hit the stage at 9am EST and will continue until the noon EST kickoff.
