RGIII Gives Brutally Honest Take On The Struggling Dak Prescott … Do You Agree??

Former quarterback Robert Griffin III is never lacking an opinion.

Love him or hate him, the now-ESPN analyst is being featured more and more on the network.

RGIII was asked about Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott – and in particular about all the added pressure he faces being the QB of “America’s Team.”

“Dak is one of the most scrutinized quarterbacks in the game,” Griffin stated.

“I’ve always been a big believer in him so I understand the people who have been loud and wrong about him for a long time, who didn’t think he could play this way, why they’ve changed their tone.”

However, even with his support, Griffin did not shy away from acknowledging Prescott’s shortcomings in critical moments.

“The truth of the matter is that Dak could have played better in the closing, crucial moments in the game. Having that sack… stepping out of bounds… You got to find a way without stepping out of bounds,” Griffin said, referring to the Cowboys recent loss against the Philadelphia Eagles.

“They had 3 drives inside the Eagles’ 10-yard line and came away with six points … I don’t care what the reason is for that, they could have executed better in that moment.”

Griffin expressed his frustration with the pervasive narrative surrounding Prescott’s abilities.

“The frustrating part for me is the whole industry has had this narrative about Dak that he can’t make these plays, that he can’t do this thing, that was nothing new to me, to see him play the way that he has. Dak is a great quarterback,” he said.

“But he himself would tell you, ‘I could have played better in the end.’”

Despite the ups and downs, the Cowboys currently hold a 5-3 record and are in the thick of the NFC playoff picture.

Having said that, everyone knows Dak’s big-game troubles need to be corrected if Dallas is ever going to make a serious run at the Super Bowl.
