REPORT: Vikings Working Out QB’s As Kirk Cousins Trade May Be Nearing

With the Minnesota Vikings sitting in the basement of the NFC North while their All-Pro wide receiver Justin Jefferson heads to injured reserve, quarterback Kirk Cousins’ time in Purple and gold may soon be coming to an end.

Cousins is in the final year of his contract and it’s no secret that many within the Vikings front office aren’t exactly in love with him … If they were, he’d be signed to a long-term extension by now.

Despite Cousins being (statically) one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL, Minnesota’s front office is expected to be active in exploring the possibility of moving him before the upcoming trade deadline.

A lot can happened between now and the deadline which falls on Halloween Day.

Before then, the Vikings will face the Chicago Bears, San Francisco 49ers, and Green Bay Packers … The outcome of these matchups will play a pivotal role in determining the team’s direction.

(Or perhaps, the front office has already made their minds up.)

Either way, despite Cousins’ best efforts, going on a deep playoff run seems very far-fetched right now … With four losses already, their chances of making the postseason are very slim.

Cousins’ name has been circulating in the rumor mill ever since Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers got injured in Week 1.

It’s true that Cousins would seemingly be an excellent fit with Gang Green, but by all accounts, they don’t seem interested.

As a matter of fact, there is starting to be some real belief that Rodgers will indeed make it back onto the field THIS season – as long as the Jets can stay in the playoff race. (Zach Wilson will have a whole lot to say about that.)

Who else could possibly be interested in Cousins? … According to reports, the Atlanta Falcons are expected to do their due diligence. (That could be an interesting fit.)

Regardless, whether he’s moved or not, it seems like Cousins will always be a guy who never gets the respect he deserves.

What do you think will end up happening with Cousins?

Will the Vikings trade him? … Should they?

No, he’ll never be Tom Brady or Joe Montana, especially in prime-time – but do you feel he’s one of the more underrated quarterbacks of this generation?
