The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are one of the biggest surprises in the NFL this season.
At 9-8, it’s not like they set the world on fire or anything – but most people didn’t expect them to win the NFC South and the make the playoffs … Yet here we are.
They will take on the reigning NFC champion Philadelphia Eagles tonight in Tampa Bay.
Unfortunately, quarterback Baker Mayfield is banged up – but considering how fractured the Birds are, it wouldn’t be a shock if the Bucs find a way to pull out the win.

If they lose however, there are rumbling that head coach Todd Bowles may be fired.
While some argue that it would be unfair to dismiss a coach after successfully guiding a team to the playoffs (again), there are whispers that Tampa Bay is eyeing the opportunity to capitalize on a competitive coaching market.
Notable names like Bill Belichick, Mike Vrabel, Pete Carroll, and Jim Harbaugh are available and up for grabs – making this one of sexiest coaching cycles of all-time.
Todd Bowles won the Division.

ProFootballTalk shed light on the situation, stating: “It all comes down to whether team ownership believes the organization can upgrade with one of the various available coaches. They likely would be interested in Bill Belichick.”
“Other big names are available to an ownership group with a history of chasing big names, like Mike Vrabel and Pete Carroll and even Nick Saban.”
(Saban might be a bit unrealistic … I don’t think anyone sees him coming out of retirement, especially for an NFL job.)

This is all pure speculation at this point.
Bowles has the opportunity to dispel any doubts about his coaching future by guiding the Buccaneers past the Eagles and into the Divisional Round.
