REPORT: Rangers & Phillies Could Be Fighting Each Other For All-Star Pitcher

The Texas Rangers were the talk of October as they steamrolled their way to their first World Series title in franchise history.

They were expected to play the Philadelphia Phillies in that World Series … (What a final that would have been.)

After all, the Phillies were as hot as could be and faced a favorable path to the Fall Classic. However, they quickly fell apart and were defeated in heartbreaking fashion by the Arizona Diamondbacks.

We may have not gotten the matchup in the World Series, but the two clubs may end up fighting over the same All-Star pitcher this offseason.

According to Jon Morosi of the MLB Network, the Rangers and Phillies have emerged as the top candidates in the race to sign coveted free-agent pitcher Josh Hader.

Morosi shed light on the Phillies persistent bullpen struggles throughout the 2023 season.

He emphasized that closer Craig Kimbrel, who the club signed last winter with high expectations, proved to be unreliable during crucial moments down the stretch in October.

On the other hand, the Rangers of course are looking to bolster their bullpen as they attempt to repeat as champs – and Hader would indeed be a great fit.

Where do you think he will end up???
