REPORT: Deion Sanders Projected To Leave Colorado For THIS Major Program … Genius? Or Disaster In The Making??

In a recent statement, Colorado head coach Deion Sanders asserted his commitment to the program for the foreseeable future.

“Coach Prime” made it clear that his plan is to stay in Boulder for “five to 10 years, at least.”

However, despite his comments, there are many who feel like his days of coaching the Buffs are much more numbered than that.

Addressing the skepticism surrounding his dedication to Colorado, Sanders emphasized his resolve during a recent interview.

“Most people ask me, ‘What you gonna do when they’re out, you’re going to the pros together?'” Sanders said, referring to his sons – Shedeur and Shilo – who are both expected to head off to the NFL following this coming season.

I said, ‘A real father leads his sons, he doesn’t follow them’ … So I’m good, I’ll be here. I ain’t going nowhere, I’m straight, I love Boulder, Colorado, and I cannot wait till they go into the NFL and do their thing.”

While Sanders has repeatedly said that he has zero interest in coaching in the NFL, fans will continue to speculate about the possibility – especially when it comes to his old team, the Dallas Cowboys.

Having said that, a move to a different college football program seems much more likely.

Sanders has brought significant buzz to Boulder … But the fact of the matter is Colorado is far from being considered a major program.

The Buffs will likely never be on the level of the elites in the sport – Georgia, Alabama, Ohio State, etc.

Sanders was once a rumored longshot to take over at his alma mater – Florida State.

However, current Seminoles head coach Mike Norvell has proven to be a high-quality coach and is in great standing in Tallahassee.

But what about one of FSU’s most fierce rivals – the Florida Gators???

It’s no secret that current head coach Billy Napier is on very shaky ground in Gainesville. If the Gators don’t take a significant step forward this season, he could easily find himself out of a job.

Interestingly, a Sanders-to-Florida move is exactly what TWSN is predicting will happen following the upcoming season.

“With Shedeur and Shilo gone from the Colorado program after this season, nothing keeps Sanders tied to Boulder. Sanders loves Texas and the Southeast portion of the country. He cut his teeth at Florida State and was a superstar for the Falcons and the Braves. He has lifted teams as a player and now as a coach.

“The clock is ticking on Billy Napier and time is not on his side. With Deion Sanders prime to move on to bigger and better in a place that is already home, expect him in the Swamp come the 2025 season,” TWSN stated.

Sanders is one of the biggest and most popular figures in football history.

His resume as a player speaks for itself. He’s a Hall of Famer for good reason and has proven to be a strong and respected mentor in his post-playing days.

However, the fact remains that he is far from a proven commodity as a coach.

He will always bring eyeballs and attention wherever he is. He’s a smooth talker and a great salesman. However, he struggled mightily in his first season at Colorado.

The Buffs finished with a disappointing 4-8 record and a last-place 1-8 conference record in the final year of the Pac-12.

This isn’t to say that Sanders won’t one day be a great college football coach … He just isn’t yet.

For a major program such as Florida to hand over the keys to such an unproven coach would be a questionable decision at best.

What are your thoughts on Sanders as a coach?

Do you think big programs – such as Florida – should be interested in him as head coach? … Or do you need to see more improvement out of him before he can be considered?

How long do you think he’ll end up staying at Colorado?

What will his next step end up being???
