REPORT: Cowboys Sign Former Star In Hopes He Can Help Push Them Over The Top

At 5-3, the Dallas Cowboys are very much in the thick of the NFC playoff picture.

Looking to bolster their roster, Jerry Jones and the front office made a very surprising signing yesterday.

Fresh off his reinstatement to the NFL, Dallas decided to sign wide receiver Martavis Bryant … The 29-year-old last played in the league in 2018.

During his brief NFL career with Pittsburgh and Oakland, Bryant accumulated 2,183 receiving yards and 17 touchdowns over the course of 44 career games.

In December of 2018, Bryant was suspended indefinitely by the NFL for violating the terms of his conditional reinstatement – which were connected to his 2016 season-long suspension for violating the league’s substance abuse policy.

In the years since, Bryant has bounced around with stops in the Canadian Football League, the Indoor Football League, the Fan Controlled Football League and the XFL.

Of course, it’s more than fair to wonder if Bryant will ever be able to even resemble a shred of the player he once was…

What are your expectations for Bryant?

Will he have an impact in Dallas?

Or is this just a low-risk, high-reward type of signing that won’t end up working out???
