The Texas Longhorns have some heavy-lifting ahead of them as they wait to play the Washington Huskies on New Years Day for the right to play in the national title game.
Quinn Ewers is the unquestioned leader of the Longhorns. Rumors are swirling that he may very well pass up on the NFL draft and come back to Austin next season as well.
In other words, prodigy quarterback Arch Manning might be waiting a while for his turn to take the reins.
However, one thing is for sure, Peyton and Eli’s famous nephew is doing everything he can to be ready for whenever that day comes.
According to Texas Longhorns insider Anwar Richardson, Manning has been working hard and hitting the weights to get his body in peak shape. He reportedly has added 15 pounds of muscle to his frame.
“Texas freshman QB Arch Manning has been grinding this year. When Manning stepped on campus in January, he weighed 210 pounds. I’m told Manning currently weights 225 (all muscle). In addition, I’m told Manning has improved to the point where he can run the entire offense,” Richardson reported.

Ewers is an elite quarterback and figures to be a high draft pick whenever he decides to declare for the NFL.
However, Texas fans are anxious to see Manning on the field.

Arch Manning is the son of Cooper Manning, the eldest son of former NFL quarterback Archie Manning.
Cooper, who was destined for a promising career at Ole Miss, unfortunately had to retire early due to spinal stenosis.
The Manning family boasts a rich football legacy, with Cooper’s younger brothers, Peyton and Eli, achieving stardom in the NFL.
Both Peyton and Eli were first overall draft picks in 1998 and 2004, respectively, and went on to win two Super Bowl titles each.
