Report: Alabama Adds TCU Personnel Figure To Coaching Staff

Kalen DeBoer, the new head coach of the Alabama Crimson Tide, is wasting no time in shaping his coaching staff, and the latest addition comes from TCU.

Eron Hodges, currently a recruiting coordinator and defensive analyst for TCU, is set to join Alabama as the associate director of player personnel, as reported by Matt Zenitz of 247Sports.

Hodges has had a diverse career in college football, starting as a strength and conditioning coach and then transitioning to roles like a graduate assistant at Kent State, where he earned his master’s degree in 2015. He later secured a recruiting position with Urban Meyer’s Ohio State Buckeyes and has served as Purdue’s director of player personnel and Texas Tech’s recruiting coordinator.

Interestingly, Hodges also has a unique background, having spent four years in the U.S. Navy.

Kalen DeBoer, who took over as head coach for the Crimson Tide, has been swift in building his staff. He brought offensive coordinator Ryan Grubb from Washington and hired Kane Wommack as the defensive coordinator from South Alabama. However, some key members from Nick Saban’s staff, including Freddie Roach and Robert Gillespie, have been retained.

Alabama has set high standards of excellence in college football, with a track record of winning at least 10 games each season since Nick Saban took the helm in 2007. Coach DeBoer is undoubtedly looking to maintain and build upon that legacy.
