REPORT: Ace Pitcher “Widely Expected” To Be Traded … Who Should Snag Him??

The Tampa Bay Rays seem poised to make significant moves on the trade market.

According to reports, right-hander Tyler Glasnow is “widely expected to move,” with insiders suggesting that the Rays are prepared to dangle him in trade discussions.

ESPN’s Jeff Passan highlighted the potential trade of Glasnow, stating: “The Rays are widely expected to move Tyler Glasnow this offseason.”

This sentiment was echoed by FOX Sports and The Athletic’s Ken Rosenthal, who also added that Glasnow could be on the trade block.

MLB Network insider Jon Paul Morosi further supported these claims, asserting: “We know this – when the Rays look at players and their salaries creep upward, they tend to move on … And I think that Tyler Glasnow, for that reason, is out there and available today and this week.”

In other words, there’s a damn good chance Glasnow is going to be wearing a different jersey next season.

A free agent at the end of the 2024 season, Glasnow is anticipated to draw significant interest on the trade market.

Despite being limited by a left oblique strain, the 30-year-old right-hander made 21 regular-season starts in 2023, posting a commendable 3.53 ERA with 162 strikeouts in 120 innings.

Financial considerations also play a role in the potential trade, as Glasnow is owed $25 million in 2024.

With his salary factored in, the Rays estimated payroll for 2024 would be $126 million, exceeding the club’s Opening Day payroll record by a notable $42 million.

We all know the Rays are run a certain way – and by certain way, I mean they watch every single penny going out the door.

Are you convinced Glasnow will be dealt?

Who should trade for him???
