Just four snaps into the season, Aaron Rodgers suffered a devastating torn Achilles injury that most assumed spelled doom for the New York Jets season.
That may very well be the case – But don’t tell Rodgers that.
Doubling down on a previous promise, Rodgers once again made it known that he plans to return to Gang Green THIS season.
Rodgers rejoined the team for the first time since the injury and was in attendance at last night’s wild game against the defending Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs.
Rodgers spoke to Melissa Stark of NBC Sports. He reportedly told her that he is doing intense rehab “over five hours a day,” and plans to return to the field this season.
“His plan is to rejoin the team permanently after their Week 7 bye. And he told me his goal is to play again this season,” Stark added.
Google says most people are put in a cast or walking boot for 12 weeks after Achilles surgery.
But Aaron Rodgers had his surgery just two and a half weeks ago and is already walking like this.

Rodgers reportedly had a special and unique procedure done with the goal of recovering and returning to the field as fast as possible.
He underwent an innovative surgical procedure conducted by renowned orthopedic surgeon Dr. Neal ElAttrache. The surgery involved the placement of an internal brace known as a “speed bridge” on Rodgers’ left Achilles.
This groundbreaking approach, while not guaranteeing a rapid recovery, aims to strengthen the repair process, potentially allowing athletes to return within four months.
One notable precedent for such a rapid return from a torn Achilles is Los Angeles Rams running back Cam Akers, who returned to action after just five and a half months in 2021.
Despite being 39 years old, Rodgers is determined to outpace this timeline, citing an extensive rehabilitation plan that he believes will “shock some people.”

During an appearance on “The Pat McAfee Show” shortly after suffering the injury, Rodgers did not commit to a specific return date but responded to queries about his comeback with a KG quote: “I think as Kevin Garnett said, ‘Anything is possible.'”
Rodgers’ unwavering determination has been evident in his statements. He emphasized his readiness to face skepticism and challenges, saying: “Give me your timetables, give me your doubts, give me your prognostications and then watch what I do.”
Needless to say, just the presence of Rodgers at MetLife Stadium gave the Jets a significant boost – and they sure played like it.
Zach Wilson played one of the best games of his professional career and nearly led Gang Green to a shocking upset.

Although, maybe it was Taylor Swift’s presence that was responsible for Wilson’s great performance…
Remember when zach wilson saw taylor swift and turned into 2020 aaron rodgers 😭😭😭

Was last night the best you’ve seen Wilson play?
Do you think Rodgers will actually make it back this season?
That would be truly remarkable.
For the Jets sake, hopefully Wilson can hold the fort and keep their heads above water as Rodgers attempts to pull of the miracle.
