RB Injury Could Lead To Zeke Reunion In Dallas: Should Cowboys Bring Him Back??

Dallas Cowboys Owner Jerry Jones is once again in the spotlight as speculation grows around the team’s running back situation.

Recent developments involving newly-acquired Ronald Jones have cast doubt on the team’s depth at the position, raising questions about the potential return of former star Ezekiel Elliott.

Jones, who joined the Cowboys this offseason after a stint with the Kansas City Chiefs, is facing a series of setbacks that have left his availability in doubt.

Head Coach Mike McCarthy confirmed reports of Jones’ groin injury, stating that he is expected to “miss some time.” This news comes on the heels of Jones’ suspension for violating the NFL’s PED policy just a week ago.

The situation has left many wondering whether the Cowboys can rely on Jones as a reliable backup to Tony Pollard. With a two-game suspension and an early injury, his ability to contribute effectively has come into question. This uncertainty has fueled rumors that Jerry Jones might be considering other options.

According to reports, the Cowboys are still considering their options and remain “in the mix” to bring Elliott back to Dallas.

Jones, a former second-round pick, had spent four seasons with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers prior to his brief stint with the Chiefs. His career trajectory took a positive turn when he won a Super Bowl while backing up Leonard Fournette during the 2020 season.

However, his struggles to stay on the field and off-field issues have raised concerns about his reliability and future in the league.

As it stands, Jones is currently positioned third on the Cowboys’ running back depth chart, behind Pollard and Malik Davis, and ahead of rookie Deuce Vaughn. Whether he can overcome these obstacles and earn the trust of the team remains to be seen.

As far as Elliot, he was once of the most popular Cowboys of this generation and forever has a place in (most) Dallas fans’ hearts.

Should Jerry Jones bring him back?

How much does he have left in the tank?
