Quinn Ewers Led CFB Campaign Takes Epic Shot At Cheating Michigan

We are only a few days away from the start of the 2024 college football season. In other words, we finally made it through the cruel hell that is summer. Congratulations.

With the new season comes a brand-new set of “Fansville” Dr. Pepper commercials. (You’re not a college football fan if you don’t know exactly what I’m talking about.)

Clever and corny. That’s the “Fansville” way.

The “Fansville” ad campaign has become a beloved staple during college football broadcasts, known for its humorous take on the sport’s biggest storylines while promoting the brand’s soda.

This year, just ahead of the 2024 season, Dr. Pepper released its first commercial of the year, featuring nods to conference realignment, the expanded College Football Playoff, and a particular scandal that made massive headlines in 2023.

The commercial includes a montage highlighting recent changes in college football.

One scene shows the Fansville sheriff warning a concerned town resident about the new 12-team CFP, followed by a woman complaining about stolen signs – a clear jab at the Michigan Wolverines.

The Wolverines were at the center of a sign-stealing controversy during their national championship-winning season, and the scandal continues to loom large as the NCAA investigates potential violations.

With former head coach Jim Harbaugh no longer at the helm, Michigan is looking to move past the Connor Stalions saga. However, Dr. Pepper’s latest ad serves as a reminder of one of last year’s most bizarre stories.

Speaking of Stalions, he just landed a volunteer coaching position at Detroit Mumford High School where he will serve as the team’s defensive coordinator.

As you may have heard, Stalions hasn’t exactly hit the ground running

Another new twist added to the 2024 “Fansville” campaign is the addition of Texas quarterback Quinn Ewers.

Ewers, entering his third season in Austin, appears as a deputy alongside former Oklahoma linebacker Brian Bosworth, who reprises his role as the legendary “Fansville” sheriff.

Ewers is the latest in a line of college football quarterbacks to appear in the “Fansville” commercials, following in the footsteps of D.J. Uiagalelei and now-NFL stars Caleb Williams and Bryce Young.

Ewers, who is expected to be one of the top quarterbacks in the country this season, is coming off a strong redshirt sophomore year in which he completed 70.7% of his passes for 3,479 yards, 22 touchdowns, and six interceptions.

He aims to lead the Longhorns back to the College Football Playoff for the second season in a row and hopes this is the year he delivers a much-needed national title to Austin.

What are your thoughts on the new “Fansville” commercial???
