Quarterback Jalen Milroe Commits To Senior Year At Alabama

Alabama quarterback Jalen Milroe has made it official: he’s returning for his senior season with the Crimson Tide. After a standout year that included leading his team to an SEC championship and securing a spot in the College Football Playoff, Milroe is eager to continue his journey at Alabama.

The announcement came during an appearance on “The Next Round” show, where Milroe expressed his commitment to returning for another season. His father, Quentin Milroe, confirmed this decision to ESPN, emphasizing his son’s determination to finish his senior year strong.

Milroe is set to graduate with a degree in business administration and a minor in entrepreneurship, an impressive achievement considering he arrived on campus in January 2021 as a freshman. His parents have been unwavering in their support, attending every one of his games and scrimmages at Alabama.

During the 2023 season, Milroe showcased his talent and resilience, finishing sixth in the Heisman Trophy voting. While he faced adversity and was briefly benched in Week 3 after a challenging game against South Florida, he bounced back spectacularly. Milroe led Alabama to 11 consecutive victories, contributing 28 touchdowns while limiting turnovers to just five. His impressive passer rating of 177.5 ranks him third among Power 5 quarterbacks, and he shares the distinction of 12 rushing touchdowns with Oklahoma’s Dillon Gabriel as the only Power 5 quarterbacks to achieve this feat.

Alabama head coach Nick Saban credited Milroe’s transformation as a key factor in the team’s success, highlighting the quarterback’s growth and development throughout the season.

The Crimson Tide’s journey continues as they face Michigan on January 1 in the College Football Playoff semifinal at the Rose Bowl, presented by Prudential. With Milroe’s decision to return, Alabama aims to build on their success and pursue another championship season.
