South Carolina quarterback Spencer Rattler is in the headlines, but it has nothing to do with anything on the football field.
The former Oklahoma transfer decided to return for another season with the Gamecocks and simultaneously secured a groundbreaking NIL deal with Dick Dyer Mercedes-Benz, a move that has proven to be a game-changer for the young star.
The highlight of Rattler’s NIL agreement was an exclusive meet and greet with fans, showcasing his commitment to engaging with the South Carolina community.
However, the deal didn’t end there. Rattler made a grand entrance at the Dentsville, South Carolina, dealership to pick up his brand-new luxury vehicle for the 2023 season – a stunning Mercedes-Benz G-Wagon.

Rattler’s popularity and performance on the field have not gone unnoticed. According to On3’s name, image, and likeness valuation, he currently ranks first among all starting SEC signal callers in NIL worth, solidifying his position as a leading figure in the emerging landscape of college athlete endorsements.
During his debut year with South Carolina, Rattler amassed an impressive 3,026 passing yards and 18 touchdowns. His contributions were instrumental in propelling the Gamecocks to an 8-4 regular season record in 2022, securing them a third-place finish in the East.
However, the season ultimately ended on a bittersweet note with an 8-5 overall record after a close defeat against Notre Dame in the Gator Bowl.
Heading into this season, expectations are high for Rattler and Gamecocks Head Coach Shane Beamer, who is entering his third year at the helm.
