Paul Finebaum Gives Unshakable Prediction On Who Will Win The LSU-Alabama Showdown

In anticipation of the highly-anticipated clash between the Alabama Crimson Tide and the LSU Tigers, ESPN’s Paul Finebaum has dubbed the showdown the “Game of the Year” in the SEC West.

Even though the primetime game is in Tuscaloosa, many doubt that the Tide will be able to keep up with LSU quarterback Jayden Daniels and the explosive Tigers offense.

Finebaum, however, is not one of those doubters.

During his recent appearance on “McElroy and Cubelic in the Morning,” Finebaum shared his insights on the matchup, stating: “I do like what we’ve seen from Alabama … Alabama has shown resiliency in beating Ole Miss, [Texas] A&M and Tennessee.”

“To me, the game that stands out is the Ole Miss game because I really believe Ole Miss is a cut above those other two … A&M is good but seriously flawed. Tennessee is good. I think this is exactly what we thought it would be in the offseason.”

“I feel pretty good about Alabama.”

“The one advantage for Alabama is that, unlike against even Ole Miss, Tennessee, and A&M, they’re not playing a seriously good defensive team,” Finebaum added.

“They were able to withstand the punches from all three of those, but they are facing the best offense in the country. I think that has to make the defensive side of the ball very concerned.”

Highlighting the impressive strength of the LSU offense, which has been averaging over 500 yards and nearly 48 points per game this season, Finebaum acknowledged the challenge the Tide will be facing trying to slow down Daniels and company.

“It is a momentum game,” Finebaum concluded. “Alabama cannot start like it did against Tennessee because this is a bunch that will blow you out. They’re capable of it. I think that the trend lines seem to point toward Alabama.”

What is your prediction for the game?
