Patriots Legend Makes Mind-Blowing Bill Belichick Prediction

As the Dallas Cowboys prepare for the upcoming NFL season, rumors are heating up regarding a potential change at the helm should things go sideways.

According to former New England Patriots cornerback Asante Samuel, current Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy may be merely keeping the throne warm for the future arrival of Bill Belichick.

Samuel recently shared his thoughts on ESPN Radio, suggesting that Belichick could be the next head coach of the Cowboys if team owner Jerry Jones decides to part ways with McCarthy, who is in the final year of his contract.

ā€œJerry Jones, he loves his players, he treats them right. Somethingā€™s going on this year, and I think that leads to next year, to say Bill Belichick will be the head coach for the Dallas Cowboys,ā€ Samuel stated.

Belichick, who is not coaching this season after his departure from the Patriots, has been a focal point of speculation.

Samuel believes that Jones is obsessed with winning a Super Bowl win and sees Belichick as the key piece to achieving that goal.

ā€œIt ultimately comes down to Jerry Jones. And Jerry Jones wants to win a [Super] Bowl. For him to get that Bowl, his options are running out. And that last option for him to make this thing come to light is Bill Belichick,” Samuel said.

It should be noted that despite being a former player under him, Samuel has proven to be no fan of Belichick and has routinely taken shots at him.

The Cowboys, who have not won a Super Bowl in nearly three decades, are coming off a season where they finished with a strong 12-5 record but were eliminated in the playoffs by the Green Bay Packers in hideous fashion.

The blowout loss at home led to considerable speculation about McCarthyā€™s future, with many predicting that Jones would snatch Belichick up right then and there.

However, he somewhat surprisingly decided to stick with Big Mike.

McCarthy, who joined the Cowboys in 2020 after a successful 13-season stint with the Green Bay Packers, where he won a Super Bowl, will be under intense scrutiny this season.

Should Dallas fail to meet expectations, it would likely pave the way for significant changes.

Belichick, who won six Super Bowls with the Patriots before his departure after 24 seasons, is currently enjoying a break from coaching.

While he is diving head-first into the media world and will be making plenty of analyst appearances throughout the upcoming season, reports indicate that he is dead-set on returning to coaching in 2025.

Do you agree with Samuel that Belichick is a near-lock for Dallas should McCarthy and the Cowboys fail this season???
