OVER BEFORE IT STARTS??: Joel Klatt Says THIS Title Contender Has The Hardest Schedule In The Entire Country … Can They Survive??

The Michigan Wolverines were a team of destiny last season.

Led by head coach Jim Harbaugh, the Wolverines steam-rolled through their schedule while out-toughing each and every opponent that crossed their path.

Capping off a dominant 15-0 undefeated season with a long-awaited national title, Harbaugh officially accomplished the mission he set out for when he took the Michigan job back in 2015.

Harbaugh is now off to the NFL where he’ll attempt to add a Lombardi to his family’s stacked trophy case.

Last year, critics of Harbaugh and Michigan often pointed to their soft schedule. (And in fairness, it was indeed veryyy soft.)

However, the tables seem to have completely turned this time around.

FOX Sports lead college football analyst Joel Klatt has declared that the Wolverines are the team with the single-toughest 2024 schedule in the entire country.

For closer examination, this is the slate Michigan will face this coming season…

-vs. Fresno State
-vs. Texas
-vs. Arkansas State
-vs. USC
-vs. Minnesota
-at Washington
-at Illinois
-vs. Michigan State
-vs. Oregon
-at Indiana
-vs. Northwestern
-at Ohio State

“They’ve got Texas in week two. We will be there. Big Noon Saturday. Big Noon Kickoff is going to be live in Ann Arbor for that game, Texas week two. USC in week four,” Klatt said.

“Then they’ve got to travel in a national championship game rematch and face Washington in October. They’ve got Oregon in November in the Big House, and then they’ve got to face Ohio State in the ‘Shoe’ to finish the year.”

Klatt pointed out that the Oklahoma Sooners have a schedule nearly as tough…

Michigan, despite coming off a national title victory, has seen significant changes within the program.

Besides losing Harbaugh, Michigan bid farewell to several key players – such as star quarterback J.J. McCarthy and work-horse running back Blake Corum – who headed off to the NFL along with many others.

The ultra-popular Sherrone Moore takes over for Harbaugh.

Moore may turn out to be a spectacular head coach. He sure did a great job filling in for Harbaugh during his suspension(s) last season. However, it would be foolish to think that there won’t be at least a few road bumps along the way.

What are your thoughts on Michigan’s schedule?

Do you agree with Klatt that it’s the toughest in the country?

Do you think the Wolverines are due for a major step back this year? … Or will they be able to carry over their momentum from last season???

Michigan fans may not want to hear it, but 2024 seems to be shaping up to be the year of the Buckeyes…
