One Of The Greatest Players Of All-Time Is Planning A Heroic Comeback

The Houston Texans are generating significant buzz as one of the most promising young teams in the NFL.

Considering quarterback C.J. Stroud’s historic rookie season, many fans can’t help but wonder how different the team’s fortunes might have been if franchise legend J.J. Watt had played last year.

With a quarterback of Stroud’s caliber along with all of the positive vibes in Houston, it’s safe to assume Watt is kicking himself to be sitting at home and missing out on all the fun.

Another bright spot within the organization is young head coach DeMeco Ryans.

A friend and former teammate of Watt’s, Ryans addressed rumors that J.J. may be planning a comeback.

“J.J. knows that anytime he’s ready, I’m ready,” Ryans told Kay Adams on the “Up & Adams” show. “When he’s ready. J.J.’s been out now for what, two years? When you stop playing football for two years, it’s hard to come back. It’s always open for J.J. I’m never closing that door.”

Watt retired after the 2022 NFL season, which he concluded with the Arizona Cardinals. (Still a bizarre sight.)

Over his 12-year career, 10 of which were spent with the Texans, Watt established himself as the greatest player in franchise history and one of the best defensive players of all-time.

Watt previously stirred the pot when he admitted that he’d be open to making a comeback if the stars aligned.

Ryans and Watt were teammates in 2011, Ryans’ final season with the Texans before finishing his playing career with the Philadelphia Eagles.

Now, Ryans is leading a rejuvenated Texans squad that is viewed as a formidable contender in the AFC.

The Texans are favorites in the AFC South, a division that figures to be more competitive than some people think. Beyond their division, the Texans face stiff competition from several AFC powerhouses.

What do you make of the Watt comeback rumors?

Will we see him suit-up in a Texans uniform once again???
