Ohio State University Welcomes Arrival of New Athletic Director

Ohio State has officially introduced Ross Bjork as its new athletic director, effective July 1. Bjork, currently serving as the athletic director at Texas A&M since May 2019, brings a wealth of experience to the Buckeyes. He previously held the AD position at Ole Miss from 2012 to 2019 and has a track record of success at Western Kentucky.

Expressing his excitement about joining Buckeye Nation, Bjork stated, “To be a part of Buckeye Nation, along with its storied traditions and long history of achievement, is a tremendous honor and a welcome challenge for me and our family. I can’t wait to get started.”

Bjork’s appointment comes as Gene Smith, who has served as Ohio State’s athletic director for 18 seasons, prepares to retire. Taking charge of all OSU athletics, Bjork’s arrival underscores the university’s commitment to maintaining its position as a powerhouse in collegiate sports.
