“NUMB!!”: Giants Reportedly Make Decision On Saquon Barkley … Is He Heading To The “Hated” Cowboys??

New York Giants running back Saquon Barkley is one of the most respected and professional players in the entire NFL.

Drafted #2 overall by Big Blue back in 2018, Barkley’s career has unfortunately been heavily affected by constant injuries.

His talent is undeniable, but we’ve rarely gotten to see it.

Set for free agency, people are wondering what the future holds for the former Penn State star … Will the Giants give him a contract extension???

Barkley has made it clear that his preference is to not only stay with Big Blue, but to finish his career with them. In a perfect world, he wants to be a lifelong, legacy Giant.

Unfortunately, this is not a perfect world.

With the Giants in rebuild mode, and new general manager Joe Schoen sharing no attachment to Barkley (previous GM Dave Gettleman was the one who drafted him), there’s a strong likelihood that they let Barkley walk.

As FOX Sports NFL insider Ralph Vacchiano pointed out, the Giants and Barkley are “probably headed towards a divorce.”

The unfortunate fact of the matter is Barkley is starting to get a little wear and tear on his tires.

Schoen has a whole lot of work to do with the roster. It’s probably wouldn’t be a wise decision pay Barkley as much money as he reportedly is looking for.

The soon-to-be 27-year-old running back signed a one-year contract in July 2023, earning $10.1 million.

Ironically, he previously turned down a much more lucrative multi-year deal with the Giants. He clearly overplayed his hand and thought his value was much higher than it was.

Barkley has been nothing short of a phenomenal leader both on and off the field for Big Blue. He hasn’t had one misstep in New York and always does things the right way.

Having said that, we know the ugly truth when it comes to running backs – Teams will no longer break the bank to pay them.

What are your thoughts on Barkley?

Do you think he’s indeed a goner? … Or will the Giants be able to keep him at a semi-reasonable number?

The Cowboys probably wouldn’t be able to afford him, but do you think there’s any chance he ends up in Dallas?

Where do you rank him among the top running backs in the NFL???
