Bo Polston is one of the highest-ranked quarterback recruits in the 2026 class.

The Indiana native is a promising prospect who many talent evaluators feel will develop into a dangerous quarterback at the college level.

Unsurprisingly, Polston had offers from several elite programs … However, he shocked the college football world with his decision to commit to the University of Toledo.

Despite being desired by top programs such as Michigan, Georgia, Notre Dame and Washington, Polston opted to join the Rockets.

“I know I had some bigger offers, but you should the perfect fit. That’s what I did,” Polston wisely said of his decision.

Hailing from Decatur, Indiana, the 6-foot-2, 200-pound pro-style quarterback has been the subject of an intense recruiting battle.

He also had offers from several other respected programs such as Virginia Tech, West Virginia, and Cal.

However, Polston has opted for the path less traveled, choosing to join the high-flying Rockets of the Mid-American Conference over much bigger programs from much bigger conferences.

“He had offers from Georgia, Michigan, Washington, Virginia Tech, West Virginia, Cal, Indiana, Liberty, and Appalachian State, among others, and visited Notre Dame last season,” the Toledo Blade wrote of Polston.

“The 6-foot-2, 200-pound pro-style quarterback from Decatur, Indiana, is rated as a four-star prospect by Rivals and the #13 QB in the country … The 247Sports composite rankings list Polston as a three-star, the #30 QB, and a top 400 overall player.”

Nothing against Toledo, but Polston’s decision is a surprising one, especially in this day and age of NIL.

Toledo is a solid program who does produce NFL talent from time to time.

They’re also well-known for their explosive offense which undoubtedly was attractive to Polston.

For the Rockets, Polston’s commitment represents a major feather in their cap.

With college football rapidly becoming a world of have’s and have nots, picking up a talent like Polston provides a nice shot in the arm for Toledo’s program.

Through the years, the MAC has produced notable quarterbacks such as Ben Roethlisberger and Byron Leftwich.

Perhaps Polston can follow in their footsteps to the NFL.

What are your thoughts on Polston passing up on offers from power programs such as Michigan and Georgia?

Clearly, he made the decision he felt was best for him and you have to respect him for that.

Will he end up living up to the hype at Toledo???
