NFL INSIDER: The First Coach To Be Fired Could Be A Very Surprising One…

Unsurprisingly, there are a few coaches on the hot-seat across the league … Some seats are hotter than others.

According to Diana Russini of The Athletic, one coach in particular could soon get the axe unless he really starts to turn things around.

According to Russini, the future of Las Vegas Raiders head coach Josh McDaniels is hanging very much in the balance.

“There have been whispers around the league that Josh McDaniels could be in trouble if Las Vegas doesn’t start winning, so this team is in win-now mode,” Russini reported.

“Look for Las Vegas to get into the pass rusher market after releasing Chandler Jones. And league sources say they are trying to trade receiver Hunter Renfrow, whom they have used minimally this season,” she continued.

The pressure on McDaniels has intensified significantly – although yesterday’s victory over Bill Belichick and the New England Patriots is certainly a step in the right direction.

After inheriting a promising roster that secured a playoff spot under interim head coach Rich Bisaccia, the Raiders have experienced a sharp decline under McDaniels’ leadership.

Following a disappointing 6-11 season last year, the team currently sits with a modest 3-3 record in the tough AFC West.

The next two weeks are very important for McDaniels and the Raiders who now have all sorts of quarterback questions due to the injury of Jimmy Garoppolo.

Las Vegas will head on the road to take on a pair of NFC North clubs.

First up is a clash with the Chicago Bears, followed by a much tougher trip to Detroit to take on MCDC and the Lions.

What do you think of McDaniels as a coach?

Can he get things turned around in Vegas???
