Miami Hurricanes Add Hall Of Famer To Staff

The Miami Hurricanes are desperately seeking a return to glory.

They have fallen on hard times lately and are a light-years away from their once proud reign over the college football world.

Head coach Mario Cristobal is trying to change all of that.

Yesterday, it was announced that he is promoting NFL Hall of Famer Jason Taylor as the Hurricanes new defensive ends coach.

Taylor spent last season on the staff as a defensive analyst.

He now jumps to a much bigger role as he attempts to fill Rod Wright’s shoes after he left to join DeMeco Ryans’ new staff with the Houston Texans.

The Miami Herald also reports that Taylor could possibly coach the outside linebackers as well.

Taylor is Miami royalty, having played the majority of his Hall of Fame career with the Dolphins…

Taylor gives the Canes instant credibility, despite only being a position coach.

Maybe he has his sights set on becoming a head coach one day.

Either way, the football world was excited about the news of Taylor’s new role…

“I have heard from somone with inside knowledge of the situation, that Jason and Mario actually get along very well, and Jason decided to stay there over some opportunities in the NFL….”

“Big Get. Homerun right here. Now the coaches are set.”

“Boom!! I was hoping for this..best move of all the coaching hires.”

“Home run hire. He’s going to kill it in recruiting.”

“Hell yeah.”
