LOOK: ND QB Sam Hartman Is Unrecognizable After Inexplicably Shaving Off His Perfect Beard

One of the most obvious statements one can make is that Notre Dame quarterback Sam Hartman has the best and most glorious beard in all of college football.

Well, make that “did” have…

Hartman decided to shave off his beard and leave only a mustache – albeit a damn good mustache…

Hartman has more than lived up to the hype since transferring from Wake Forest to Notre Dame.

He’s thrown for 1,838 yards, 18 touchdowns and just three interceptions for the 6-2 #15 ranked Fighting Irish.

With Notre Dame on a bye week, Hartman felt the urge to shave off his trademark beard.

The controversial decision did not sit well with many people … Some feel like Hartman shaving his phenomenal beard would be like Bradley Cooper shaving his head for the fun of it.

However, leaving the 70’s-style mustache certainly helps negate the damage.

Predictably, social media had plenty to say on this matter…

“I have a bad feeling about this. What if the beard held all his super powers?”

“It’s glorious. He’s like a young, Tom Selleck. If the NFL doesn’t work out he can replace Jay Hernandez as Magnum.”

“When you’re that good looking it doesn’t matter. He can do whatever he wants—it’s a win.”

“We’re living in Travis Kelce’s America. Football players want to mimic the mustachioed success of his dating life.”

“sam hartman somehow got more handsome. a god damn throwing magnet.”

“Sam Hartman looks like someone wearing a Sam Hartman Halloween costume.”

As is the case with most things, some love it, some hate it.

No matter how you feel, it’s safe to say the beard will be missed.
