Despite Broncos head coach Sean Payton publicly saying that the team hasn’t made a decision on what to do with struggling quarterback Russell Wilson, we all know “Mr. Unlimited” has most likely played his last game in Denver.
Due to financial reasons, getting rid of Wilson won’t be too easy … But Payton knows it’s probably best to just rip off the band aid.
Denver trading for Wilson and the contract they ended up giving him will go down as one of the worst decisions in NFL history.

Assuming Wilson is released and becomes a free agent, it’s safe to say there will be at least a few teams who will be snooping around.
Can he still be a legitimate starting quaterback in the league?
Is he better suited to just be a veteran backup? … Or does he have too big of a “profile” to be holding a clipboard on the bench?
Well, according to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, there may indeed be one team in particular who would be open to brining in Wilson to be their starting quarterback – The Minnesota Vikings.
“Don’t be surprised if Wilson, should he become a free agent, is intrigued by Minnesota, assuming Kirk Cousins doesn’t re-sign with the Vikings (a big question).” Fowler reported.
“Kevin O’Connell comes from the Sean McVay passing tree that maximizes quarterback efficiency. Wilson would have plenty of weapons in a group that includes Justin Jefferson, T.J. Hockenson, and Jordan Addison,” he added.

Cousins was in the middle of one of the best seasons of his career when he suffered an unfortunate torn Achilles injury, ending his season.
Minnesota has a very important decision to make in regard to whether or not they should stick with the 35-year-old veteran quarterback.
If Russell Wilson comes to Minnesota, I will retire my lifelong fandom, and find another team….

Despite the constant drama, Wilson had a bounce-back year for the Broncos in 2023.
Although the season ended with him being benched and many feel his solid statistics are nothing but fool’s gold.
It’s become clear that he’s nowhere near the quarterback he once was in Seattle.

What do you make of the report?
Do you think Minnesota would be a good fit for Wilson?
Would O’Connell be able to get him back to the level he used to be at?
Or is Wilson permanently washed up???
No he wouldn’t
Why bring in an aging, high priced QB who doesn’t know the system or weapons when you can resign an aging, high priced QB who already knows the system?
I’m not a big Kirk fan
But if Kwesi is entertaining the idea of Russ, he might as well keep Kirk— Jackson Kruger (@JacksonRKruger) January 17, 2024
