Legendary QB Tabbed To Lead USA’s Olympic Flag Football Team

With the 2024 Summer Olympics officially in the books, attention is already shifting to the 2028 Games, set to take place in Los Angeles.

Among the exciting new additions to the Olympic roster is flag football, a sport strongly championed by the NFL.

This inclusion offers a tantalizing possibility of NFL players participating in the Games, with stars like Joe Burrow and Patrick Mahomes expressing their enthusiasm for representing Team USA.

While Burrow and Mahomes are expected to be key contenders, there’s speculation about another notable name joining in the fun.

NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero and Scott Hanson have suggested that retired quarterback Tom Brady could be a candidate for the 2028 Olympics.

Pelissero, in particular, highlighted the potential impact of Brady in this new Olympic arena.

“Tom Brady in that setting would be phenomenal,” he remarked. Despite Brady’s age of 51 by the time of the Games, his participation would undoubtedly attract a ton of eyeballs.

However, Team USA might opt for younger talent, given Brady’s age and the fact that he will be so far removed from the NFL by that point.

Nevertheless, the allure of having the iconic quarterback back on the field could be irresistible if he decides to make a bid for the team.

There’s also reports that he continues to have frequent throwing sessions.

In the meantime, Brady is gearing up for his new career in broadcasting.

After indirectly kicking Greg Olsen to the curb, Brady will take over as FOX Sports’ lead NFL analyst. His first regular season assignment will be the Week 1 battle between the Dallas Cowboys and Cleveland Browns.

What are your thoughts on the idea of Brady playing in the Olympics?

In the bigger picture, are you in favor of NFL players participating? … Or do you think flag football should feature amateurs???
