Kobe Bryant’s Football Star Nephew Reveals His Favorite Schools

Jett Washington, the nephew of the late NBA legend Kobe Bryant, is making a name for himself in the football world.

The four-star recruit from the class of 2026 has been ranked as the number one player in the state of Nevada and the sixth-best athlete in the nation.

Washington, who attends Bishop Gorman High School in Las Vegas, has already caught the attention of several prestigious college football programs.

According to Adam Gorney of Rivals.com, Washington’s early favorites include powerhouse programs such as the defending national champion Michigan Wolverines, Alabama Crimson Tide, Tennessee Volunteers, and Notre Dame Fighting Irish.

“Alabama, Oregon, Notre Dame, Tennessee, Texas, Michigan, and Washington are the early standouts for the 2026 four-star athlete from Las Vegas Bishop Gorman who is also related to the late Kobe Bryant,” Gorney reported.

Gorney also mentioned that while Washington had always dreamed of playing for USC, his “dream school,” communication with the Trojans has been limited so far.

Washington, the son of Kobe Bryant’s sister Sharia, grew up receiving guidance from his famous uncle and playing basketball with his cousin, the late Gianna Bryant.

Despite his success on the basketball court, Washington has decided to focus on football at the next level. At Bishop Gorman, he has played as a safety and wide receiver, showcasing his versatility on the field.

Reflecting on his life as Kobe Bryant’s nephew, Washington shared his perspective with The Athletic.

“Sometimes I feel a little bit of pressure being Kobe Bryant’s nephew, but my parents make sure I don’t feel it too much,” he said. “They tell me to just go out there and have fun, don’t try to overthink, and just play.”

Washington emphasized that while he deeply respects his uncle’s legacy, he is determined to carve out his own path.

“My uncle was a great player,” Washington said. “At the same time, I know he wanted me to make my own name. He laid the foundation for me. I’m just grateful.”

What are your thoughts on Washington as a prospect? … At the end of the day, where do you think he will end up???
