Kirk Herbstreit’s Star QB Son Nearing College Decision

ESPN college football analyst Kirk Herbstreit is used to his sons playing big-time college football.. After all, he’s already had three of his boys play – Zak at Ohio State and Tye and Jake at Clemson (with Jake ultimately transferring to the Buckeyes).

Don’t look now, but his fourth son will most likely be the best player of the bunch.

A quarterback in the class of 2025, Chase Herbstreit making the recruiting visit rounds and is embarking on a crucial phase in the process.

Chase lined up six trips to help him decide where he might want to commit to.. Already visiting Michigan, Ohio State and Penn State – he will reportedly head to South Bend to visit Notre Dame this Thursday.

Next week, he will head to Georgia (June 20) and Alabama (June 21).

Expressing his enthusiasm for the recruiting process, Herbstreit conveyed his eagerness to improve both on and off the field.. “It will be a busy month of June, and I am excited about getting to learn how I can get better on and off the field,” Herbstreit shared with On3’s Chad Simmons.

“These schools know what it takes to be successful, so it will be great to work with them and learn from them at the camps.”

During his sophomore season, the 6-foot-2, 185-pound St. Xavier (Cincinnati) product displayed plenty of promise and is expected to take a significant leap in his upcoming junior season.

As of now, he has not received any official scholarship offers. However, many college programs are keeping a close eye on his development, and it is widely anticipated that offers will begin to come in later this summer.

His dedication and potential, combined with his pedigree as the son of Kirk, has heightened the interest surrounding his recruitment.

He spoke about the influence and wisdom his famous father has shared with him throughout his development.

“The main thing he’s taught me is just the mental state,” Chase said. “Just if you throw a pick, just get the next play. Don’t worry about the last play that you did. Just try to get better the next rep.”

And just like his father, there’s one school in particular that Chase has on his mind.

“Ever since I was a little kid, it was [Ohio State].. It’s the only option,” he previously told 247Sports.

Kirk has a very close relationship with Ohio State Head Coach Ryan Day.. But if Chase is going to end up being a Buckeye, he’s going to have to earn it.
