While the intent behind the comment may have been to stoke the flames of the storied rivalry, the quip seemingly fell flat, failing to generate the reaction Love had hoped for.
Nevertheless, his attitude and willingness to embrace the challenge of filling Rodgers’ shoes will undoubtedly endear him to Green Bay faithful as the new face of the franchise.
Drafted in the first round by the Packers in 2020, Love has had limited playing time, making only 10 appearances, including a single start during Rodgers’ absence due to COVID-19 protocols.
In his brief time on the field, he has thrown for 606 yards, three touchdowns, and three interceptions, with a loss in his lone start.
Now, with the full weight of the starting role upon him, Love is poised to prove his worth and carry the Packers forward.
