Jones Family Mocked For Strange Approach They’re Taking To Convince Cowboy Stars To Stay In Dallas

The Dallas Cowboys face a significant financial challenge as they strive to retain star players Dak Prescott, CeeDee Lamb and Micah Parsons.

Despite being one of the better teams on paper, the Cowboys have yet to get over the hump in the playoffs.

While there is little doubt over the value of Lamb and Parsons, some fans are questioning whether Prescott is truly a franchise quarterback who’s capable of winning a Super Bowl in Dallas.

Soon enough, the Cowboys front office will have to make some very important decisions.

In a recent radio interview on 96.7 The Ticket, Cowboys executive vice president Stephen Jones revealed some unique advantages he feels the franchise has when it comes to negotiating with their star players.

Interestingly, Jones emphasized Texas’ favorable economic environment.

“One of the great things about Texas is you don’t have state income taxes,” he said. “Companies like to move here because it’s a lower cost of living than in some of these other big cities.

“These are factors we’re emphasizing to our players so we can continue to build a strong team around Dak, CeeDee, Micah (Parsons), Trevon (Diggs), and Terence (Steele). Our goal is to keep adding talent around them.”

Jones acknowledged that the Cowboys’ top-tier players also deserve substantial contracts.

“At the same time, I totally understand that they want to be paid and it’s their time to be paid. And we respect that as well,” he continued.

“Certainly they deserve it. They do their job as well as anyone in the league, whether you’re talking about CeeDee, Dak, Micah, Diggs. All those guys play at a high level, and they deserve to be paid.”

Prescott and Lamb are both entering contract years, increasing the urgency for the Cowboys to secure their futures.

Meanwhile, Parsons has two more seasons remaining on his rookie contract, and Diggs recently signed a five-year, $97 million extension, although his season ended prematurely due to an ACL injury in September.

Jones revealed that new offers had been submitted to Prescott and Lamb earlier in the week.

With the recent contract agreements of players like Jordan Love, Trevor Lawrence, and Justin Jefferson resetting market standards, Prescott and Lamb are in strong positions to negotiate significant deals.

As the Cowboys work to retain their core talent, they must balance competitive salaries with the financial realities of building a championship-caliber team.

At the end of the day, will all three end up staying in Dallas long-term???
