Joel Klatt Highlights Michigan’s Clear Option After Jim Harbaugh

As Jim Harbaugh gears up for his second interview with the Los Angeles Chargers this week, FOX college football analyst Joel Klatt is making a strong case for what he believes could be an “obvious” succession plan for the Michigan Wolverines.

Taking to social media on Monday, Klatt laid out his reasoning for why he thinks the Wolverines should consider promoting offensive coordinator Sherrone Moore to head coach if Harbaugh decides to make the leap to the NFL.

“After watching what transpired at Alabama & then at Washington & then at Arizona over the last 10 days, it is obvious that Michigan should promote Sherrone Moore if Jim Harbaugh decides on the NFL,” Klatt tweeted. “Coaching changes are now complete chaos.”

Moore has already proven his mettle by stepping in as Michigan’s interim head coach for four games this season, securing impressive victories against Ohio State, Penn State, Bowling Green, and East Carolina – two of which were pivotal wins for Big Blue.

At just 37 years old, Moore was already on the fast track to success as an assistant coach and has earned the adoration of the Ann Arbor community. It’s challenging to envision a more fitting candidate than him to lead the University of Michigan football program into the next chapter in a post-Jim Harbaugh era.
