The allegations of sexual assault made by Aspen Vaughn, the owner of Aspens Restaurant and Lounge outside Kansas City, against Jackson Mahomes have led to a series of unfortunate events for her and her business.
The restaurant has been permanently closed due to a sharp decline in sales and a disturbing array of threats and harassment.
Vaughn accused Mahomes of attempting to forcibly kiss her and grabbing her by the throat at her restaurant in February. This incident came to light when footage emerged, providing evidence supporting her claim.

Following the allegations, the restaurant experienced a significant drop in sales, causing its ultimate closure, as reported by the Kansas City Star.
Stephanie Lopez, an administrative employee of Aspens Restaurant, expressed the emotional toll the events had on the business: “It’s hard to own a company and go through everything that we’ve gone through. We were so close to making it, and then this whole thing happened,” she said.

Vaughn revealed to the Star that her sales had plummeted by 75 percent after the accusations became public. Additionally, she suspected that someone vandalized the restaurant by tampering with its air conditioning connections, damaging natural gas lines, and causing water damage by pulling the fire alarm.
The series of events left her feeling vulnerable and attacked by unknown individuals.
“I feel like definitely, since it’s occurred, my safety is definitely at risk,” Vaughn said. “I’m feeling attacked by people I’ve never met. Why do victims not come forward? It’s because this is how they get treated.”
Mahomes, 23, was arrested in May and faced three counts of aggravated sexual battery in connection with the incident. However, he has consistently denied any wrongdoing through his attorney.
“Jackson has done nothing wrong,” the attorney stated firmly. “Our investigation has revealed substantial evidence refuting the claims of Jackson’s accuser, including the statements of several witnesses. We have reached out to law enforcement to provide the fruit of our investigation so that they may have a complete picture of the matter.”
